What data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Name and email address on registration
  • Date of birth (for users who indicate they may be under 16, to trigger parental consent)
  • School and year group (optional, provided by the user)
  • Practice session data: questions answered, answers submitted, marks awarded, time spent
  • Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details)
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, session timestamps

How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and improve the platform
  • Generate personalised revision plans and progress analytics
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send service emails (account confirmation, billing notifications)
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described below.

Third-party processors

We use the following trusted third-party processors:

  • Supabase — database and authentication (EU hosting available)
  • Stripe — payment processing (PCI-DSS compliant)
  • Anthropic — AI question generation and answer marking. Only anonymised question content and answers are sent. No name, email, or identifying information is included in any API call.

Children under 16

We take the privacy of children seriously and comply with the UK Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code). Users who indicate they are under 16 during registration are required to obtain parental or guardian consent before their account is activated for full use. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without explicit parental consent.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@jadamstutor.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days. Anonymised aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
